Sophia University
Hey! Say! Jump! Member, Keito Okamoto, 18, was found out that he passed his admission at Sophia University by seating a TOEFL (Test of English as foreign language) and English essay.
He passed both tests.
It has been reported the exam results were announced around the end of January. Okamoto, his father and Johnny’s senior talent Kenichi Okamoto and their pet dog crowded around the computer at their house to read the news on the university’s exam results web page. The Hey! Say! JUMP star has been living together with his dad, who has supported Keito over the years, driving him to and from work if their schedules allowed it.
Studying at Sophia University is his first choice. All subjects he took will be studied in English. Keito Okamoto had been studying at United Kingdom alone and for 5 years since 4th grade.
They use English as the first language in classes, not many places in Japan offer this. “I want to learn more English, and I’m interested in international marketing as well,” he said.
Sophia University is one of the colleges that are hard to get in same as Waseda, Keio and such. No matter how busy he were in entertainment, he studied hard as possible. Also in dressing room, he will read his reference book during the preparation time and also during rest time. During the test, he will postponed in any appearance. So the staffs and the members of HSJ understand. He is referred as “I love to go to college” person.
Meanwhile, other Johnny’s who’s studying right now is Sho Sakurai (30) at Keio, HSJ member, Inoo Kei (21) at Meiji and even Yabu Kota (22) at Waseda which will starts in April.
Keito Okamoto was born during on 1st April 1993 (heisei-5) at Tokyo. He had been in Johnny’s for 6 years. He was debuted in HSJ group during the released of ‘Ultra Music Power” on 07 Nov and was debuted as an actor in Final Group B Kinpachi Sensei. He also appeared in Hyakushiki in Fuji TV.His father,Kenichi Okamoto is a former member of a Johnny’s group. He’s 175cm tall and blood type O.
He enroll Sophia University in faculty of liberal arts. A lot of entertainment people passed this. The graduates are Hikaru Nishida,Masaru Hayami, whatsoeverkabira, BENI, and Crystal Kay. More than Half of foreign students were studying it and 30% were local students, according to the official website.
Based on trusted source, he tried to enter the at the last year seasons, but he failed even he has passed TOEFL. He also ask his senior for advice.
Then he said that he will try again next year (its around his Las Vegas Myojo photo session). All his friend support him and as you know, finally he passed for Sophia.

Recently, there's a lot of news that we read about the celebrities that we admire, got their chance to enroll in university. Somehow, this kind of news burn up our passion to do our best in study until we are success to be able to enter university of our choice. They really inspire us in study. Moreover, that persons are our beloved Hey! Say! JUMP.
We still remember last year on February magazine issue (we forgot the magazine name), Keito mention that he wanted to enter Sophia University after he had graduated from high school. Now, we already mentioned he successfully passed to be the student of his university first choice. When we read it, suddenly tears dropped from our eyes. It was a happy tears. That news really touch us because we are proud of JUMP's achievement in life. One by one of their dreams come true. We've thought a second, if they can success in their life, why can't we?
At first he failed, but the news showed that he never give up until he get what he want.
Thank you for being our inspiration in life. We will do our best in our upcoming SPM (High School General Exam) this November. We've target to gain straight A+ for that exam.
